Firstly, I got the part in the musical that I wanted. Mr. Twimbe, head of the mailroom!  I get my very own song! But as is the way of the world, when something good happens, something bad pops up to ruin it. I was so happy to have gotten the part, but then I remembered my cousin. I went back to check the cast list, and her name wasn’t on it. There went my happiness. That’s all she wanted, and she should have made it. She was probably overlooked as she is in grade nine. Hey, I haven’t given her a false name on here yet. Hmm, what should I name her?  Diva? Satine? Audrey? I like Audrey. She is a little Audrey Hepburn. She’s like my sister. I know she’ll go far.

How do I know this?

Because I got two, count them, TWO callbacks. One for the Personel manager Mr Bratt, and the other for the head of the mailroom, Mr Twimble. I’m hoping to God that I get Twimble. He’s a funny old man that doesn’t want a promotion, and gets to sing his very own song. Well, it’s a duet with the lead, but still, it’s his song. His idea is that he likes his job. It’s safe, and he won’t get fired. Clever fellow. The callbacks are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. So. Very. Excited.

On another note, I still don’t think anyone is reading this. But oh well, it’s still fun to get my ideas out. If anyone IS reading this, then good for you, and thanks I hope you’re enjoying yourself.

At the moment, I’m working on my Writer;s Craft homework. I have to write an article for a teen magazine, so I’m writing about starting High School. List of Do’s and Dont’s and all that. Lots of very boring fun. Writer’s crat is NOT what I expected it to be. I wanted to be writing stories everyday. That’s what the people who took it before told me it was like. But I’ve got the new teacher that hasn’t taught this course before, and I think she changed a ot of things. Ah, well, stories will come soon enough I reckon.

Reckon?  God I sound like Tom Sawyer. No, you know what, I don’t. I sound like Huck Finn.  I like him better. Should I say LOL here?  I think I will. LOL!

My audition is on Wednesday. I have to act a short scene. No problem.

I have to dance a small dance. No big deal.

I have to sing a song, by myself in front of a very…intimidating teacher, whom I will affectionately call Mrs. Mack.

Anyway, that will be the highlight of my week. I hope very much that I get at least a small lead role in the play. A few lines, maybe a solo, I’m not picky. But even if I’m just in the chorus, I’ll still be glad. Ah well, such is the life of an actor.  Pffft, like I can call myself that. I haven’t even been in many things as of yet. Just school plays and all that. Back to school news.

We’re on act four of Othello, almost time for Dessy to get it with the pillow. Yes, I read ahead. I like spoiling things for myself sometimes. Did anyone else realize that she comes back to life after Othello’s killed her?  Yeah, she comes back for a few seconds, says, what is it, two lines, and then dies again.

Oh Bill Shakespeare, did you have a thing for zombies? Is this the first Zombie movie ever?  And (yes I know, don’t start a sentence with “and”. Shut up, it’s my blog) what’s up with Iago? Telling lies about Cassio. Iago has some odd fantasy that Cassio started kissing him and fondling him while they slept in the same bed. Othello should have seen two things wrong with that story. One, why wasn’t Iago in his OWN BED? Two, why on Earth wouldn’t Iago have stopped Cassio after he started the hand holding and kissing. Iago should have said “Um, wake up!”  But he didn’t. Ah one of life’s great puzzles. Apparently, some people think that Iago has a thing for Othello. Whatever. Might be an interesting plot twist. I read a book where Shakespeare was with a man a couple of times. Good book, well written. Shut up, it was pretty cool. All fantasy and what not.

In First Period, English, we started Othello by taking a note on tragedies.  Then Mister Pistachio put on a tape of the first two acts and we listened to that until class was over. I’m excited for this play, Iago is quite interesting I’ve been told. All I can think of is Gilbert Godfrey as the parrot in Aladdin though. Oh well.

Second Period was Com Tech. That’s the new name that they gave Lighting and Sound. We were shown the program WYSIWYG. Pronounced Wizzy-Wig. It stands for “What You See Is What You Get.” It’s a program where you can design the lighting for different events. Quite cool, if not a bit complicated. Then Mister Holland took us up to the cat walk above the auditorium. Nothing new, as I’ve been up there many times. One of the perks of being a drama kid I guess. Oh, interesting story, some kids once mistook the gallery above the Aud as a bathroom…on purpose. My friends and I discovered them and then helped clean up. Ah well, one must protect what one loves.

Lunch was quite uneventful.

Third Period is Writer’s Craft with Mrs Newbie. She’s quite fun, but hasn’t taught the class before. She’s an English teacher though, so he’s doing fine. The class errupted in a heated debate over the Twilight novels. I hate them, even if I’ve never read them. That’s my view on that matter and I refuse to change it. The class put forth many god points both for and against the books though. We finally got back on topic, and Mrs Newbie began a lesson about the voice of a piece of writing.

Fourth Period, Art with Miss Blondie. Ah, I do love her so. She’s ne of the teachers that is only one step away from being your best friend….sometimes. I supose she has to be in the right mood. If not, she snaps back into teacher mode. Ah well. We coloured a value scale, and started drawing a still-life. Not my favourite thing, but still a good class. For our final art project, we must do three pieces of work that represent a common theme. I was going to paint three things, but sculpting is also an option.

That’s my day. Nothing funny or amazing to report, but ther’s still a whole year to go.

Also, there’s a meeting about the musical Friday at lunch! Exciting!!

No big surprises what so ever. I’m sure things will become much more interesting within the next few weeks once the clubs and groups start up.

Another twist I forgot to mention earlier. My cousin has just started grade nine at my school, so now it’s like I have a little sister there. It’s kinda nice.

4th Period: Art with Miss Blondie
